<image:caption>I am experienced at working at the most senior level, building trusted relationships with a diverse portfolio of stakeholders. One example of a trusted relationship which led to extraordinary outcomes was my time as a senior member of the Royal Household where I was responsible for all aspects of HM The Queen’s relationship with the Armed Forces. As Defence Services Secretary from 2010-2012 I was responsible for planning all military elements of HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, all military ceremonial involvement in the London 2012 Olympic Games and all ceremonial aspects of the 2011 Royal Wedding. Overseeing 5,000 staff, these events were viewed by over 100 million people worldwide.</image:caption>

<image:title>My experience - Complex organisational change - Complex organisational change</image:title>
<image:caption>I am often recruited into organisations to drive transformational change programmes. My experience has seen me commercialise and modernise institutions, build high performing leadership teams, merge existing services to drive efficacy and make difficult decisions that ensure immediate impact and long term success. My leadership at SSAFA saw income rise by 30%, and 42% at the RAF Benevolent Fund. At the heart of my approach is effective staff management. I have deep knowledge of how to lead, but also how to listen. This is underpinned with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of people strategy and policy. At RAF Halton, I led one of the UK’s largest training colleges, training up to 25,000 personnel a year. More strategically, as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Personnel) I oversaw all military personnel and training policy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>My experience - Operational delivery - Operational delivery</image:title>
<image:caption>My operational expertise was honed in the military, serving on operational tours in the Falkland Islands, on UN peace-keeping duties in Bosnia and in Sierra Leone. I also served throughout Africa, Australia, Cyprus and Germany. This translated into senior leadership and management positions in the RAF; Assistant Chief of Staff Training and Head of Ministry of Defence Personnel Strategy and Programmes. In 2009 I was promoted to Air-Vice Marshal and appointed Defence Services Secretary and Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Personnel). Outside of the military, I have led primary and secondary healthcare and statutory social services delivery organisations in 14 countries, supporting hundreds of thousands of vulnerable individuals. I also led diverse delivery of direct services including addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability.</image:caption>
